Reading on your device

Core Bible reading works without an account. Bible text, notes, highlights, prayers, reading history, quiz activity, preferences, and downloaded audio are stored on your device.

Optional accounts

When you create an account or sign in, Supabase processes your email address, name, user identifier, and authentication information. Google or Apple sign-in can provide the profile information you authorize, including an optional profile-photo URL.

Optional cloud backup

When you choose Backup in Settings, the app sends your profile, notes, highlights, prayers, reading history, reading streaks, quiz progress, preferences, and app-usage records to Supabase. Backup records are associated with your account so you can restore them. You can use the reading features without creating an account or starting a backup.

How Bible Ethiopia uses this information

We use account and backup information to provide sign-in, backup and restoration, app features, and security. Bible Ethiopia does not use this information for advertising or marketing, sell it, or use it to track you across other companies’ apps and websites.

Online content and external providers

Audio, daily verses, images, videos, and content updates may contact Bible Ethiopia, OurManna, Unsplash, or YouTube. These providers receive network information, such as your IP address, when content is requested. Embedded YouTube playback is provided by Google and is also subject to Google’s privacy policy; provider data practices may differ from Bible Ethiopia’s account and backup practices.

Your choices and deletion

You can read without signing in, leave cloud backup unused, and manage notification permissions in Settings. The app’s Dashboard provides an account-deletion option for your account and cloud-backup records. Local data can be removed in the app or by deleting the app. Contact us for help with access, correction, deletion, or questions about retained data.
